Research projects rely on high-quality, well documented data to produce useful findings. Inaccurate data can hinder researchers’ abilities to answer research questions. We will present the newly developed, open-source data management system (OCEAN). It encompasses practices such as proactive quality control and extensibility. Data and metadata is stored in a homogeneous schema that scales easily with input. An API endpoint offers flexibility to query the database and run replicable data processes that are critical for the longevity of research. More than just a database, OCEAN enables collaborative input from multiple disciplines, altering the status quo of research data.
