The Carpentries (https://carpentries.org/) is a unique global volunteer-based community which teaches foundational coding and data science skills to researchers worldwide. In The Carpentries at St Andrews (https://carpentries.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk/) we have been running regular workshops for PGR students and staff since 2017. We will tell more details about our workshops in St Andrews, where we trained more than 450 learners at 27 workshops so far, with the next one in May 2026. We will also present our contributions to the international Carpentries community, such as developing training materials, training Carpentries instructors, and coordinating the Ukrainian Carpentries Community.
